Condor Sighting in Chonta Cusco is a popular activity among locals. On this full day tour, we will take you to both Chonta Condor Viewing Point and Killarumiyoq.

Condor Sighting in Chonta:

Chonta is a canyon in Limatambo district. This is one of the nearest places in Cusco where you can see the majestic flight of Andean condors. Seeing the flight of Andean Condors is a unique experience. They were sacred to Incas. 

Killarumiyoq:

Killarumiyoq is a site dedicated to the Moon and Earth. The name comes from a Quechua word which means “The Moonstone”. The sites houses some sculptures that resembles moon. It was also a ceremonial site.

Experience the two distinct destinations on our one day tour. Chonta and Killarumiyoq will captivate you both visually and mystically.

Itinerary

Cusco - Killarumiyoq - Chonta - Cusco

At 0800, we will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco in our private transport. We will then embark on a journey to Canyons of Chonta. 

Along the way, you will be rewarded with awe-inspiring sights of snow capped peaks, deep valleys formed by rugged mountains. We will be stopping in Killarumiyoq.

Here our guide will walk you through the temple dedicated to moon and will share its significance to Incas. The best attraction here is the sculpture of moon carves in one single rock. 

From here, we will be driving to Limatambo. Here we will be stopping for lunch in a local restaurant. 

Later we will start our one and a half hour’s hike to the view point to see the flight of Andean condors. Normally at 0200 PM, the condors fly back to their habitat after hunting. The region is also home to over a 100 species of birds. 

You will also have an enchanting view of of Apurimac River and Apurimac Canyon from Cusco Chonta.

Once you have had your fill of Condor viewing, we will hike back to the parking area. We will then drive you back to Cusco.
