Inca Jungle Trail Cusco experience is the best alternative to the four days Inca Jungle Machu Picchu Trek. This is one of our signature tours which offers a memorable and an authentic experience with our well trained local experts.
The experience involves a multitude of activities ranging from mountain biking to zip lining and river rafting. We will be crossing small Andean communities where you will get an insight to the Andean way of life and traditions.
Encuentros Peru Adventure takes pride in working with a team of professional tour guides who are born and raised in the region. Our guides are also trained on first aid medical attention. They are also bi-lingual with a good proficiency in English language.
It is important for our guide to share all their knowledge about the history, culture and traditions. We are one of the preferred tour operators for Inca Jungle Trail Cusco.
As your safety is our utmost priority for us, we offer full body protection gears during the biking trips. While hiking our local guides will give you instructions on where to go and where not. All the extra optional activities such as zip lining and river rafting will only be done by highly skilled experiences guides.

Cusco Hotel Transfer
We will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco at around 0600 AM. Then in our private transport we will drive you along the Sacred Valley of Incas to Malaga Pass. Also known as Abra Málaga at 4,316 metres above sea level.
The Inca Jungle Trail experience begins here. Our guide will give you a short briefing and will share safety instructions. Then our crew will give you the downhill mountain bikes with all gears. Once you are kitted with all appropriate gears before commencing the three hours down-hill biking to the town of Humanmarca (about 34 miles or 55 km).
During the bike ride, you will be witnessing the beauty of snow capped peaks at a distance. The climate would be varied, changing from dry, colt to humid-heat.
From Huamanmarca, we will continue our journey in our minivan for approximately 30 minutes to the town of Santa Maria. At Santa Maria, we will stop for lunch.
After having lunch, you will have an option of doing rafting (level III and IV, during April to November) in the Urubamba River. It crosses through part of the Inca jungle. The rafting price (100 Soles) is not the part of the tour price.
After the rafting experience, we will take our transport to Santa Teresa. Here we will be accommodating you in a basic room with private bathrooms.
You will have an option of doing canopy zip-lining (100 Soles). If not, we will start our trek towards the base town of Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes. It would be a three hours walk through Aobamba Valley until we reach the Intihuana area. Here we will be passing a checkpoint.
Along the way, we will stop for lunch. The route to Aguas Calientes would reward you with a series of waterfalls and sights of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu.
We will be continuing our Inca Jungle Trail along the railway lines for two hours until we reach Aguas Calientes town where we would be spending the night.
We will start early in the morning from the hotel in Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. We will try to be early to witness the sun rising over the mortar walls of the renowned Incan citadel.
At 04:30 in the morning we will start hiking uphill from Aguas Calientes. You will have an option of hiking the 1,500 steps built by Incas or alternatively take the 20 minutes bus ride for USD 12. Once inside the citadel, our guide would give you a complete guided tour of Machu Picchu.
The guide would give you a detailed tour of different sights like important temples, a site used for sacrificing, Incan clock and more. After the guided tour you will have some free time to explore and immerse yourself in the tranquility of Machu Picchu.
If you have booked to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, our guide will be directing you to the entrance.
At an agreed time, we will be meeting at the train station in Aguas Calientes where you are boarding the train to Ollantaytambo and onward road transfer back to your hotel/hostel in Cusco.
