Our Machu Picchu Tours One Day is ideal for those with less time in Cusco and who want to explore the best of the renowned Incan citadel. With absolutely no compromise in service, we cover all the areas on this Machu Picchu day trip from Cusco as we do in our two days tour.
Visiting Machu Picchu tops the bucket list of many travelers. This marvel was built during the Inca empire by Inca Sapa Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui. It was built in the same era as its sister city, Choquequirao. Machu Picchu served as a royal estate to Pachacutec.
The sanctuary of Machu Picchu was home to about 750 people. Most of them were workers. Sadly Machu Picchu was not passed down in the line of succession and was abandoned just after eighty years. This was because the Spanish invaders took over most parts of the Incas.
Fearing their life, they were forced to abandon most of their royal estates and homes and seek refuge in far distant places. Espiritu Pampa in Vilcabamba which served as the last refuge of Incas is the best example of this.
Like most sites of Incas, Machu Picchu too had its religious center, ceremonial place, and agricultural terraces. Machu Picchu was home to over a hundred man-made terraces. These terraces were built on the slopes of a hill (which now serves as an entrance to the citadel).
The Incas not only built these terraces by ensuring a good drainage facility and fertility of the soil. They also made sure to protect the citadel from landslides and erosions. This is one of the best examples of the advancement of Incan engineering.
On this 1-Day Machu Picchu Tour From Cusco, our local expert will be giving you a detailed tour of the Inca Citadel for two hours. During the tour, you will be visiting different sites in the citadel and will discover its use during the Incan civilization. We have specially trained dedicated guides who conduct the tour of Machu Picchu.
They are locals and tourism professionals. Our guides have extensive knowledge about the life of the Incas and their culture. You will have the best and a memorable experience on your lifetime trip to Machu Picchu.
We offer the full-day tour as a small group tour so you will have the best opportunity to understand and discover more about the lost city of Incas.
