Manu National Park Tours offers an authentic Amazon experience. It takes you to the Peruvian part of the largest rainforest in the world. Manu is home to over 6500 Quechua speaking community and over 2000 Amazonian tribe.
At Encuentros Peru Adventure, we have designed this programme exclusively for those with less time in Peru. The four days 3 nights tour to Manu National Park will take you to the Biosphere Reserve. It will will offer you an authentic Amazon experience. You will be spending the nights in jungle lodges savouring local meals.
This is one of the pristine areas of the Amazon rainforest. There are only a handful of people living here. This zone has strict restrictions on fishing and hunting. Also, they are strict regulations on tourism. To visit these zones a visitor must be accompanied by a registered local guide. Each tour guide must have a license to conduct tours here.
Manu National park is so extensive that it is divided into three zones – Manu Biosphere Reserve, Manu Reserved Zone and Cultural Zone.
The zone where this activity takes place houses over 8000 species of flora, 400 species of birds and plenty of animals. It offers a unique experience of crossing on balsa wood rafts on the renowned Machuwasi lake. These rafts are hand made, using branches of a local tree.
Apart from showing you the distinct flora and fauna of the region, the tour will also introduce you to the life of local Amazonian tribes.
Cusco Hotel Transfer

At 0530 in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel. In our private transport, we will embark on a road trip to Paucartambo. It is a folkloric town that is somewhat like a border between the highland region (Cusco) and Amazon. We will stop at pre Incan funeral towers of Ninamarca.
From here, we will be driving through the cloud forests. The region is home to some beautiful orchids. We will do the first hike of the trip here. We will be hiking up the hill trying to spot the national bird of Peru – Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola).
You will also get to see some monkeys and different species of birds. Later in the evening we will reach Bambu Lodge in the lowland rainforest. Here, we will accommodate you in a typical ensuite room.
After breakfast, we will board a local bus. This will take us to Atalaya port. From here, we will travel in a motor boat to Soga de oro Lodge. The journey will be for around 40 minutes, up the Madre de Dios river. Once we reach our destination, you can swim in the warm waters. Here, the climate is warm, a typical rainforest one.
Later in the afternoon, we will walk around and explore the jungle for a few hours. We will try to spot caimans. Along the way you will also see some distinct medicinal plants. Our guide will give you a detailed tour. After the tour, we will go back to the lodge.
Early in the morning after relishing on a typical Amazonian breakfast, we will start the tour. This will be a walking tour, where you will be seeing some medicinal plants, orchids and tapirs. Later in the afternoon, we will cross to the other side of the river. Here we will stop to get glimpse of the world’s largest rodent – Capybara (Hidrochaeris).
At night, we will have a night safari. On this tour, you will see toads, insects, frogs, snakes and bats. Our local guide will explain he characteristics of each of these. At night we will return to the lodge.
We will start the day early and visit the Macaw Clay Lick. Then we will return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, we will drive you back to Cusco.
This was a lifetime experience. Encuentros did a tremendous work in organising everything exceptionally well. The whole experience was way beyond my expectations.
