Itinerary
Bolivia Uyuni Tour

10:30 AMDeparture (Train Cemetery - Colchani - Uyuni Salt Flats)

Bolivia Uyuni Tour begins with a drive to the renowned Train Cemetery of Bolivia.

In the 19th century Bolivia stepped into a new era of trade. And to facilitate this, they introduced the train system. The plan was to transport goods to the neighbouring countries. Sadly, this project was unsuccessful due to limitations in resources. These trains were left to rust and fade away. Over a hundred trains were abandoned here. Now these locomotives with graffitis are a popular sight for pictures.

We will then drive to a small town named Colchani. Colchani is home to salt processing unit. Here we will give you a tour and demonstrate how the locals use the traditional method to process salt.

There are also some traditional handicraft stores around here.

01.00 PM – 02.00 PMSalar De Uyuni - Dakar Monument - Flag Monument - Playa Blanca Hotel

Welcome to Uyuni Salt Flats! We will be driving on the world’s largest salt flats. On the way to Hotel Playa Blanca, we will make many stops to try and get the perfect perspective photo.

Hotel Playa Blanca, was the first salt hotel built entirely of salt blocks. However due to lack of proper drainage system this caused environmental hazard and was eventually transformed to a museum.

The hotel is next to the Dakar Monument, a place where the popular Dakar Rally starts every year.

There is also a flag monument next to it.  So while you are posing with your country’s flag, we will have your lunch ready at Hotel Playa Blanca.

02:10 PMUyuni Salt Flats - Isla Incahuai (Cactus Island)

After lunch, we will drive around the salt flats. Our guide will take you to the right spot where it would be just our group. Here you will have plenty of opportunity to pose for the perfect Insta Pic on the world’s largest salt flats.

We will then visit Incahuasi Island. This island is popular for the giant cacti. You will have some free time to walk around and explore. From the top of the island, you will have be able to see the enormity of the salt flats. At dusk, we will start our drive back to Uyuni.

On the way back we will be stopping in a couple of places so you can witness the sunset on the world’s largest salt flat – Salar De Uyuni.

We will be reaching Uyuni by 0630 PM.
